The Power of Information

We thought the following quotation so good that we happily stole it from David Worlock's Twitter trail :

"If publishers are to survive they must be the organizers of self-publishing , not its victims"

This is the week when the UK Cabinet office Task Force on The Power of Information published its final report  with its clarion call for Government websites and information to become user empowered  utilising social networking approaches and technologies.

One wonders truly how long the pre-packaged product pushed to users model can survive - and that goes for Governments, Associations as well as for publishers.

Four years ago we founded SONA on the principle that "everyone is now a publisher".  And, as we pointed out in Age Shall Not Weary Them, this is not a phenomenon only for the so called digital native generation. This is for Everyman to communicated their message directly to Everyman.
