SONA principal Shane O’Neill delivered the closing Keynote address at this week’s E Publishing Innovations conference – a gathering of 150 senior publishing and software executives at Incisivemedia’s prestigious annual forum.

And in all three there are strong and lasting indicators that social networking and all that it implies for the marketing and communications process is entering its early adolescence and leaving its childhood behind.
The timing of the announcement by the Department of Health ofmight be regarded as pre electoral gesturing. But it is of longer gestation and properly focuses attention upon one of the great potential public sector intangible asset bases that we have. Namely, the huge investment in technology, scientific research and knowhow which is tested and applied within the NHS every day, and which could be leveraged commercially for the advantage of UK PLC and back to the NHS itself.
Within the space of the past 36 hours I happened to be present at three different events which illustrate the contradictions at the heart of the data and information debate.
